WESLEY ATTEW: Wesley Attew writes evocative Modern Folk Rock that speaks directly to the soul. The English born, Vancouver based singer-songwriter is a rare talent whose music is intimate, emotive and expressive. His songs illustrate the unparalleled sensation of exploring this world and the people in it. The music he makes isn’t just for a moment, but for every step of the journey. This led him to craft songs composed of poetic lyrics that derive from this extensive period spent travelling. His songs are stories, each of which are moving bodies of work. Wesley's voice is whiskey-infused honey poured generously over ice. It’s intoxicating, warm and thrilling. His guitar playing coupled with a one man band style of kick drum percussion is the ideal backdrop to his opulent songwriting. His music is complex yet accessible, familiar yet mysterious and dark yet whimsical. Attew has since recorded an abundance of new material, working alongside producer Jeff Zipp of Light Machine Records. 2020 saw the release of Wesley's first two singles from his upcoming EP including the mesmerizing song ‘Where Do We Go From Here' which is the first single and title track from the record. The song is about being torn between the longing for stability and constant movement. It evokes the feeling of wondering whether you've made the right decisions, while knowing there are no right decisions. It represents missing the places you called home but not wanting to return to them. It was accompanied by an Official Music Video directed and produced by long time friend and visual collaborator Jack Madeley. This was followed up by his second single 'Always The Same' which released on September 25th alongside a live performance video. After being only one week old it was played on the iconic BBC Introducing Radio show in the UK. He was recently awarded the Factor Canada Artist Development Grant, this has helped him pay for the recording and marketing of his upcoming EP. With his recent releases Attew has seen his fanbase expand and his Spotify skyrocket, growing to 10,000 monthly listeners and 50,000 streams in just a few months. Wesley’s music deserves a thunderous global following and he is well on his way. https://www.wesleyattewmusic.com https://www.facebook.com/wesleyattewmusic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJzBf6QctJE TISSA RAHIM: Tissa Rahim, the Persian Powerhouse, is an established West Coast musician with a 40-city North American tour under her belt. She has performed at House of Blues in New Orleans, the Gramercy Theatre in New York, and Vancouver’s quintessential jazz and soul club, Guilt and Co. Named one of 24 Magazine’s “Top 24 under 24”, her collaborators include producers such as 100 Monkeys’ Jackson Rathbone. As a solo artist, Tissa is able to freely explore her effortless Soul/RnB sound, infusing it with the traditional Persian music her family has made for generations. Beyond performing as a solo act up to a 6-piece band, she has led workshops on how her Middle Eastern roots have influenced her contemporary songwriting. Tissa's signature vocal style combines the depth of Amy Winehouse with the melodic playfulness of Googoosh. Since 2019, Rahim has built up an enticing catalogue as a solo artist, consisting of digital releases, videos and a number of collaborations with artists in Vancouver and beyond. Tissa's upcoming single “Sunrise To Sunset” was written as part of Music BC's Canadian Songwriter Challenge, where she placed in the Top 15. It will be released on all platforms on October 1st, 2021. https://tissarahim.com https://www.facebook.com/iamtissarahim https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkFBAE623qo PAUL CALDWELL: With a strong musical influence from both sides of his family, well-known for their traditional and contemporary music, it was only a matter of time until Paul began his music career. From the craggy cliffs of Ireland to the mystic mountains of Vancouver, Paul Caldwell has the ability to bring the story of one land into the landscape of another. Caldwell grew up with Celtic music echoing through the rugged coastline in his hometown of Buncrana and these traditional Irish tunes have reverberated deep into his soul. As a self taught guitarist Caldwell has a unique playing and writing style; a style that allows his heart to pour through the strings which makes his songwriting so personal. His music is influenced by his travels and the people he meets along the way. Caldwell left Buncrana when he was 20 years old and moved to Liverpool, UK where he formed his own band, 'Kicked Out of the Nest', playing mostly covers. He began to pursue songwriting, and recorded a couple of singles as part of an early collaboration project. He also played and did some vocal work on a couple of records by local Liverpool folk artists Lizzy Nunnery & Vidar Norheim. This gave him a keen interest in the art of recording. Caldwell now resides in Canada and feels a strong bond with the country. Caldwell released his first EP 'Post-It Notes' on July 8th, 2018 and will be releasing the first track to his second EP 'Headlines' on October 16, 2020. https://paulcaldwellmusic.com https://www.facebook.com/paulcaldwellmusic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_-0JDMSA2Y
